If there’s ever a time to acknowledge and take account for the hedonistic lifestyle many of us lead, it should be now. Described by the United Nations as the worst disaster it’s ever responded to, the recent earthquakes in Haiti have not only claimed an estimated 250,000 lives but have also left hundreds and thousands of people homeless, hungry and fighting for their lives.
In a compassionate effort to a make a difference The Sydney Electronic Music Community, The Bank Hotel and The Groove Academy are teaming up on Sunday February 7th to present the Haiti Fundraiser.
Kicking off at 3pm the event so far includes an impressive line up with artists like La Fiesta Sound System, The Boogaloo Crew, The Groove Academy, DJ Bobby Blaze (NYC), Alex Taylor and Troy Cox generously donating their services, time and talents for free. In addition to gold coin donation bins and a raffle going on throughout the day, The Bank Hotel will also donate 50c of every beer or spirit purchased directly to the Red Cross Haiti Appeal.
So if you’ve found yourself wondering what you can do to help this devastating situation the make sure you hit up The Bank Hotel on Feb 7th.
