German techno stars Booka Shade were already one of electronic music’s most lauded live electronic acts, and they’ll be back shortly for Future Music Festival. But if you thought you’d be getting the same old live show, then you can think again… As it turns out, they’ll be getting their balls out while they’re touring with the festival. That’s right, and in a big way too… They’ve even called it the ‘Big Balls Tour’. Seriously. But it’s not what you might think.
“Many times when performing live we included visuals,” the duo’s Arno Kammermier recently told ITM’s LeBron. “This time around when we come, we’re going to have a great production with big illuminated balls. It’s a matrix of 7×5 of these balls, each more than one meter big, so it’s a real big matrix and it’s all programmed with the music and synced with the music and it looks really good – it’s this huge light system and we’re able to bring this to Australia which we are very happy with.”
The duo confirms they’ve already been getting their balls out all over Europe during the course of the summer. “We played with it for a while last summer, so that was kind of the first tryout for this system and we’re really keen to bring this to Australia.”
Arno also confirms they’ve officially labeled it the ‘Big Balls Tour’. “Haha yeah, there’s a lot of good jokes you can make about that.” Don’t worry Arno, we’re way ahead of you, and we don’t really need to be encouraged. We’re already balls deep in bad jokes and smutty puns.
