Citing an unexpected ‘family emergency’, UK indie-dance noisemakers Friendly Fires have been forced to cancel their appearance at this year’s touring Good Vibrations festival, which is set to kick off in just under 48 hours time.
Taking to their Facebook page to break the news, the band addressed their Australian fans, apologising for their sudden withdrawal from the festival.
“Unfortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Australia because of a family emergency within the band,” Friendly Fires wrote in the message. “Heartfelt apologies to anyone who was looking forward to our shows, we hope we’ll have the chance to come and play for you all very soon.”
Already local fans have voiced their disappointment and sympathy at the news, which comes on the back of the band themselves telling inthemix how excited they were to be coming back to Australia for the festival.
Jam Music, the crew behind the Good Vibes festival, will issue a statement to festival-goers about the cancellation of Friendly Fires later today, so click back to ITM for more updates soon.
Although Friendly Fires are out, Good Vibes is still set to pack a mighty punch courtesy of Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden and The Killers, so check out ITM’s festival page for more coverage and get pumped up!
