Just this morning eager Good Vibrations fans awoke to find that beloved indie trio Friendly Fires had pulled out from their appearances on this year’s touring Good Vibrations festival. Now some even more brutal news has hit, with festival headliners The Killers announcing that they’ve been forced to pull out of the first dates on the tour and an initial sideshow, scheduled for this weekend in Sydney and Perth.

inthemix is currently awaiting statement from Good Vibrations festival organizers about the cancellation, however the band’s touring agent Mushroom Group issued the following statement.

“The Killers had hoped that the Australian leg of their current tour would be completed as planned, but due to the severity of the illness of a close family member, they regretfully announce the cancellation of their Sydney Enmore show as well as their shows at Good Vibrations Festival Sydney and Good Vibrations Festival Perth this weekend.

The band apologizes to their Australian fans and asks for their understanding. The Killers still intend to perform at the Good Vibrations Festival’s Gold Coast and Melbourne shows next weekend.

The Killers would also like to take this opportunity to assure their fans that any concerns about the future of the band are unfounded. They are all looking forward to some time off at the end of this tour as they have been on the road for a long time, but there are no plans for an indefinite hiatus.”

According to the statement, those tickets purchased for the Enmore sideshow with a credit card will be “automatically refunded” and those who purchased theirs with cash will need to return to the point of purchase for reimbursement.

Stay tuned to inthemix for more updates about the Killers’ withdrawal as we get them.

What ever happened to 'the show must go on' - I finding the now expected band pull-out due to 'illness' thing a bit lame. This used to be rarity, not it seems commonplace. Sure i feel bad for the individual with a sick relo, but your job is your job, have

I am guessing they will be replaced with either the presets, cut copy or midnight jugg. or possibly miami horror. Cut copy would be good but the others. no thanks

1. Does anyone reckon we'd be able to get a refund? Pretty sure that by law they must offer it as an option... happened with BDO when Bjork pulled out. 2. Lets be honest, both The Killers and Friendly Fires will be replaced with either The Presets, Cut Co

It is not 'Jam Music' fault at all, at least there giving you the option for a refund! It is the dodgy agencies that organise these tours so if your looking at footing the blaming on someone blame the soft cock 'Killers' %u2018Friendly Fire%u2019 manage

More I think about it the more I think Killers excuse is bullshit,I seem to recall them pulling out at 11th hour from 2004 BDO! So they've cancelled twice in 3 tours, good record,I reckon they don't give a sh$t. They were cr*p at V Fest anyway!
