After 2008 saw their profile rise even higher than ever before thanks to the triumphant In Ghost Colours LP, it was inevitable that we’d see Melbourne synth-lovers Cut Copy take off around the globe for a year or two of non-stop touring. But as it would turn out the Melbourne trio have kept their eyes on the prize, and apparently they’re already mapping out their next full length record.
In an email blast sent out to fans overnight, the Cut Copy crew revealed their plans for the next few months, spreading the word that they’ve been hard at work on the follow up to In Ghost Colours, stating that the recording process is already underway.
“Collectively we have been camped out in a warehouse on the outskirts of Melbourne, finishing writing and recording for album number 3,” the band wrote in the message. “More on that very soon.”
Regarded by many ITMers as the more ambitious and forward-thinking acts in the recent electro-bloom, the thought that we might see a new Cut Copy album before the year is out is a very exciting prospect. Fingers, toes, and hearts crossed that we get to hear more soon.
