With the recent news that beloved international festival brand Creamfields would be exploding onto Australian dance circuit in May, bringing with it a cavalcade of big name artists like The Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT, and Ferry Corsten.

The advent of Creamfields will see the festival join the likes Sensation, Godskitchen and Global Gathering as a big-time overseas festival to successfully make the jump to Australian turf.

With anticipation for the festival continuing to skyrocket, our heads have been spinning as we wonder what other international festivals could possibly be imported for Australian festival goers. In the spirit of wishful thinking, we’ve put together our list of the 20 festivals worldwide that we’re dying to see here. Take a look.

> inthemix pres. Festivals We Want

Reckon we missed one? This list is by no means exhaustive, so leave us a comment in the field below and tell us what other international festival you’d want to see come to Australia!

Yeah, cause we really need more festivals. The club scene is dying and festivals are often full of fuckwits. Not to mention the fact that when artists only come for one gig per city it allows them to jack up their asking price and this gets passed on to t

Why the hell do we need more festivals? They all bring the same artists to the same venues and bare no resemblance to the original. Just bring out more quality acts please, we have enough festivals sucking all the quality away from each other already.

I think a Glade-like festival in Australia would be great, but it will never happen. Or if it does, only the once (see: Global Sound System- eclectic one year, not so much the next)

1. do we really need anymore 2. would they actually be bringing anything different 3. they are getting too big to be of any real value anyway ie. 4 arenas/stages where you dont get to see all the acts that you would like. i'd rather see smaller events 2

Sensation Black, now! Also, all Dutch festivals that involve Q dance. All of them. We have the beaches, dammit. And the fields. Now give us the damn festivals already so we can get wasted, pass out and wake up next to someone else doing exactly the same t

agree with dugtrio and pomrocks. these festivals bear no resemblance to the original other than the name by the time they reach australia. 1h sets, low volume, over by 10pm thousands of clueless bandwagoners...i think we're saturated with this garbage al

Lame article - half he festivals featured only work due to their location / proximity to Europe etc, importing one would just make it the same as all the others in the already over saturated market, we need less festivals, but an increase in quality and s

What's in a name? Global Gathering 2008 was basically a scaled back FMF. Sorry to sound like a killjoy but I would much rather an Aussie festival be that good it is revered overseas, not t'other way around. :)

thats exactly what makes festivals special. stuff this branded, affiliated crap, that has absolutely no resonance with the majority of the australian community. what has creamfields got to do with us? an opportunity for a tired old clubbing brand to pump
