Local electro fans were bummed out at the end of 2006 to hear that the upstart super-pairing of Groove Terminator and Sam La More as Tonite Only had run its course after a few short months of awesome activity. Whilst the ensuing years have seen both GT and La More prosper with their own individual projects – GT’s currently on board the Future Music Festival boat with his new live act Jump Jump Dance Dance and Sam La More’s been working on solo material – it seems as though the Tonite Only allure was too strong to stay buried, and the duo have reunited for more Tonite Only fun.
In a statement issued to media earlier this week, the La More and GT announced their return to the decks under the Tonite Only banner would go down on at Brisbane’s The MET on Mach 26th. Keen to learn more about the duo’s decision to resurrect the Tonite Only moniker, ITM spoke to Simon Lewicki aka GT to get the scoop on the reunion, with GT explaining that he and La More were happy to be working together again.
“Sam and I did a show in Brisbane last year at the request of a promoter that had booked us for a NYE gig a few years back and then we parted ways before we could play for him,” he explained. “We enjoyed the gig and are definitely open to doing more shows when the opportunity presents itself bar any preceding commitment for either us.”
Whilst fans can look forward to catching the duo in action soon enough, better still is the news that some new Tonite Only original material will likely emerge soon too. “We are looking into doing some new music as well,” GT added. “And hopefully some of our unreleased material will see the light of day as well!”
