After a heady run of dates, Future Music Festival’s 2010 cast had its last party together in Adelaide yesterday. Coming straight from Sydney and Melbourne, the well-oiled machine arrived at Rundle Park ready to combat the (public holiday) Monday blues.
A highlight throughout the entire tour, the Likes Of You stage was once again a safe bet at the final stop. Way Out West laid the groundwork for John Digweed with a live set of gradually-building progressive house, while later the still-standing showman Sven Vath wasted no time in banging out the big-tent techno.
The main-stage commanded the bulk of the crowd, though, with The Prodigy’s fast and furious show ending what has been another triumphant tour for the UK veterans. No doubt still buzzing from a loved-up Melbourne after-party, Above & Beyond delivered its final three-hour set on the Anjunabeats stage; competing with the euphoric mix of old and new from Booka Shade across the field.
