After 11 years leading triple j’s dance music charge, Nicole Foote is hanging up the headphones. The enduring host of Mix Up and The Club has kept late-night listeners on the ball with exclusive DJ sets, interviews and live broadcasts from festivals.

Most ITMers will no doubt have a soft spot for Foote’s work on Mix Up in particular, with a world-class array of DJs and producers contributing exclusive mixes over the years. Recent guests have included Optimo, Chase & Status and Audiojack, with a distinguished back catalogue including Sasha, MSTRKRFT, Diplo, Reboot and so many more. Mix Up has also showcased local luminaries in monthly ‘resident’ slots, with the latest being turntable king Dexter.

This weekend’s shows will be Foote’s final session before “she heads off to Darwin for more radio and DJ adventures”. Set your dial to triple j from 1am till 6am this Friday 19 and 9pm till 1am this Saturday 20 March. Never fear, though – The Club and Mix Up will live on, with triple j set to search for a new presenter soon!

Best one by far was local DJ Opiuo's one a couple of weeks ago, most amazing music I have ever heard hands down (Been listening to the mix up for 3 years).

I heard that Nicole and Angy quit music journalism/broadcasting and are opening a zoo composed entirely of unicorns.

I remember getting home in the wee hours one Sunday morning and i forget the dj on the decks but he did this mix of eye of the tiger which was awesome. It went for like 15/20 minutes. It started just as I puleed into the driveway. I turned the engine o

Nicole is an awesome presenter. So sad :( my favourite mix up was either the Gatecrasher Summer Sound System live broadcast or Kazu Kimura's from around 2002
