Irish techno don Phil Kieran is not one to do things by-numbers, and this Easter he’ll bring his unique live A/V show to Australia for the Likes Of You tour. The man debuted the slick set-up at Sven Väth’s state-of-the-art Cocoon Club in Frankfurt last year, and it has since done the rounds of Europe to rattling effect.

Ahead of his visit, inthemix spoke to Kieran about the gear he’ll be packing. If the seamless integration of music and visuals all sounds a little hard to picture, check out the live show preview video below.

“The music is connected to a computer that drives the visuals to big screens on stage,” the producer explained. “I also have small TVs in front of me and a pair of TV glasses with all the visuals running through the screens at the same time, all in real time to the music.”

As Kieran went on to tell ITM, the inspiration for the high-concept live show is simple. “I didn’t want to be the moody guy pressing ‘Play’ on Ableton with my good Sunday shirt on trying to look cool for the ladies,” he quipped. “I want to try and give something to people – some kind of experience they will remember, hopefully for the rest of their lives.”

Grand ambitions indeed, but we’ve got no doubt he can pull it off. Check out the video below for an idea of what awaits at the Likes Of You shows.

Why are the Canberra and Afloat shows listed above? Is Keiran playing at them? He isn't listed as playing them anywhere? Hope so anyway as i may check out the canberra show.
