One thing festival organisers can’t control is the weather, but punters flocking to the Australian debut of Creamfields in Sydney and Melbourne won’t be leaving with soggy shoes. Both events are set to be fully undercover, utilising spacious ‘circus tents’ (see attached photos) to house the mainstage. As well as room for a lot of bodies, the tents will also be kitted out with production worthy of the festival’s UK counterpart.
“After seeing events such as the Grand Prix and other festivals recently fall victim to rain and getting washed out, we invested in state-of-the-art circus tents for Melbourne and Sydney,” Creamfields’ John Curtin told inthemix. “They are amazing tents that hold over 12,000 people and will really bring a different vibe to our festival. Creamfields in its first year is selling really well nationally and we are looking forward to bringing some new features and production to this show.”
The Sydney event will also make full use of the Moore Park surrounds, with the Hordern Pavilion, Royal Hall of Industries and more in full effect. Melbourne will see the Circus Tent stationed at Melbourne Showground.
Some of the star attractions for Creamfields’ virgin voyage down under of course include Bloody Beetroots’ fiery Death Crew 77 live show, trance master Ferry Corsten and Swedish House Mafioso Steve Angello.
