Tech-trance trailblazer Marco V is no stranger to the Australian festival circuit, having notched up appearances at both Sensation and Trance Energy last year. While a planned third visit was cancelled in somewhat messy circumstances, he is locked in for the mammoth Creamfields debut in May.
With Cream ambassador Ferry Corsten on the main-stages around the country, it falls to Marco to headline the Cream arena – and he’s looking forward to the challenge. The Dutch powerhouse told inthemix recently how he’s planning to take on the sets. “I’ve been doing a whole lot of smaller club gigs recently, so it’ll be nice to cut loose again with a big room ambience,” he said. “At a festival, I like to quickly pump it up with the big sounds, while in the clubs I tend towards a darker edge. The big room energy gives me a magical peak.”
“Creamfields is going to be mammoth,” the man enthused. “I have a great history with the festival and to be involved in bringing it to Australia for the first time is a 2010 highlight. It’s been 12 months since I was there last for Trance Energy and I had a blast.”
