2010 is shaping up to be a vintage year for trance devotees, with inthemix receiving exclusive details of Airport making its long-awaited return this winter. With a new Airport mix (due mid-June) by our homegrown star Trent McDermott as its launch pad, the national tour will also feature two of the scene’s most celebrated ambassadors – Simon Patterson and Sied van Riel.
Since showcasing class acts like Agnelli & Nelson, Leon Bolier and Greg Downey, Airport has been on hiatus for a while – but it’s all set to take off again with a bang. Tomorrow night at the Civic Underground in Sydney, Airport will relaunch with a fine local cast, warming up for the main event in July.
Simon Patterson was a knockout on the Trance Energy tour last year, with our Sydney reviewer concluding, “This guy is pure class, and it would be foolish to think he won’t be big business in years to come.” Likewise, Sied van Riel triumphed at Sensation NYE ‘09, hosting his own ‘In Riel Time’ arena. With Trent McDermott rounding out the bill with his always-adaptable take on trance, this will be an all-star affair.
Airport will visit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth between 2-11 July, headlined by Simon Patterson, Sied van Riel and Trent McDermott. Stay tuned to inthemix for more details!
