A sorely missed summer-send off of the Australian dance music calendar this year was the mammoth Trance Energy bash, which last year rampaged through the country’s trance devotees. And though the festival has been raging on back in Europe – and in a big way if you check out 2010’s photos! – us locals can’t help but feel a little left out. Well, suck up that disappointment because there’s a ray of light ahead indicating that none other than Sander Van Doorn will be heading our way very soon.

The news comes with a fresh announcement today that Van Doorn will be taking over the controls for the latest Trace Energy mix compilation, Trance Energy ‘10, which is due out here at the end of this week (May 7th) through local faves Central Station.

As well as hyping up the tasty looking mix from Van Doorn and his choice cuts from the likes of Marco V, Ferry Corsten and Rank 1, the press statement drops some select hints of juicy info about a Sander Van Doorn tour this year, claiming that Australian audiences will be treated to the superstar Dutchman later this year.

“Following last year’s sold out Trance Energy tour, Sander Van Doorn will return to these shores later this year,” the statement read. “Sander Van Doorn will tour in the last quarter of this year to promote the compilation. Expect a unique stage-show and spectacular light-show, with support from the crème-de-la-crème of local and international talent.”

Sounds super tasty, right? To get you in the mood for what could very well be ahead, have a look through ITM’s massive gallery from Trance Energy 2010 in Holland from April and then peep the tracklisting for Sander’s compilation below.

Looking forward to seeing Sander again, but as for that TE compilation, I won't be buying it as I am pretty fed up with They Need Us and Arnej in general.

CD is pretty damn solid. Listened to it quite a few times. Sanders set at TE was interesting, i didn't stick around for much of it but the parts i heard were pretty good. Opening with Renegade was a gimmie, which certainly got the crowd in a frenzy. I s

I thought his set at TE in Perth was a little lacking, but his set at Godskitchen the year before was mind blowing. Looking forward to seeing him again. He's been making some awesome tracks.
