Tiesto talks up his favourite Australian tour moments

Marking one of the biggest summers the Australian dance music scene has experienced in years, this year saw the mighty trance don Tiesto stop by for a two-week slog of big dates, showing off his impressive and theatrical Kaleidoscope spectacular.

Whilst he’s since been spreading the gospel across the globe, most recently at the buzzed about Smirnoff Experience bash in South Africa, ITM scored some time with the Dutchman to talk about Tiesto’s favourite moments from his summer visit, with the man himself more than happy to reminisce.

“The crowds in Australia have been amazing to say the least. It is always a pleasure to play down under,” Tiesto said before we pushed him to pick a possibly favourite show from the whole multi-date tour. “I have to say though that Brisbane was an amazing night for me. Rain was pouring down throughout the show but the crowds only got more and more into it the wetter they got,” he said. “It was an amazing night.”

Speaking about his time spent on the road since releasing the Kaleidoscope LP last year, Tiesto explained that the Australian crowds were some of the most embracing of the new Kaleidoscope show setup.

“The fan reactions have been overwhelmingly positive,” Tiesto explained. “I wanted to create the biggest and best production to date, based much more on visual content and concepts of the Kaleidoscope theme. We did it and to see it be embraced with such positivity is a real thrill for me. It’s been a great year so far and it seems to keep getting better.”

Stay tuned for more juice from our Tiesto interview, including, gasp, the man himself telling us when he’ll be back in Australia next…

Sydney show was just like any other production at the Hordern and certainly not nearly the same magnitude of EOL tour.

Tiesto's Sydney second show was no better than Armin Only, but f#*k it was hot in the hordern that night, the aircon must have been turned off. Please turn on the aircon if you play at the hordern again. Thanks!!!

IMO Kalaidoscope was very dissapointing...I think he has lost the plot..Tiesto what happened to your dedication to true Trance music is stead of jumping on the band wagon to please the masses?? For me the best show I have ever been has to be the Element

you guys would not know a good night if it hit you in the face. Tiesto = Disgrace to the Dance Music World. Do not support this artist who tours now purely for the money and fame. When you buy a ticket, you are buying a ticket for his ego. He was not good
