Bremen tech maestro Stephan Bodzin always goes down a storm in Australia, and his July tour with The Likes Of You is set to be no different. The man was last here doing the live thing at Future Music Festival in 2009, but he’s made some significant tweaks to the format. Bodzin is calling his new show ‘re_lived’, and inthemix heard about it in a recent interview.
“With my initial live set-up, I used the standard lemur but this year, it’s something new,” Bodzin told ITM’s interviewer Ali Alkan. “I’ve built a customised ‘three-mur’, which is three lemurs into one case. I will be able to control the projection, with visualisation and music at the same time. It will be more live than in the past, which is really important to me. It got me thinking – how can one man extend his live set-up to make it have that extra live vibe?”
With inthemix presenting The Likes Of You shows, we’re also offering an exciting opportunity for fans. One lucky Bodzin-phile will score a double pass to the show in your city, where you’ll hang out and interview the man himself backstage. Your chat will then be published on inthemix and The Likes Of You website. So, what would you ask Stephan Bodzin, if you were given a few minutes with him to talk music?
Bodzin has even put together an Australian tour teaser video (featuring the infamous ‘techno rod’!) to get us properly psyched for the head-caving that awaits. Check it out below, and follow all the developments at inthemix.com.au/thelikesofyou.
