Adelaide clubbers can look forward to a new club night this week, with Lactose Intolerant launching at Live on Light Square, Saturday 19 June. The brainchild of Adelaide DJs James Corbett and Devious, Lactose Intolerant will be bringing clubbers underground tunes mixed by a carefully selected range of Adelaide DJs, with house, progressive, techno, electro and breakbeat on offer.
Says Corbett: “Lactose Intolerant is all about enjoying music that isn’t marketed in our faces; we aren’t told we have to like this music or we won’t be cool. Lactose Intolerant is a night based and designed solely around music, not fashion, branding or Paris Hilton. It’s about finding what resonates within your soul to create musical enjoyment on a level that you have yet to experience.”
“Commercial music – cheese – is like a McDonalds meal, convenient and easy to enjoy in small doses, but too much is bad for you. Non mainstream or underground music is like dining in a fine restaurant, you enjoy it on many more levels. Lactose Intolerant will be a show for all people that already acknowledge the invasion of commercial music and want to support the fresh sounds, and also for those other people who love music, and would love to explore other sounds, but simply don’t know where to look.”
The launch of Lactose Intolerant this week will be showcasing the musical wares of DJs Devious, James Corbett, Uberjak’d, Karla B, Motez, Matt Abstrax and Alex McKenzie.
