Who could forget Clare Werbeloff? The original Kings Cross Bogan shot to infamy on the back of her notoriously phoney “Chk-Chk-Boom” rant on TV and the tidal wave of memes that rose in its wake. Well, apparently we all could forget her and what a glorious world that was. But not so for local lad’s mag Ralph who dug up the Chk-Chk-Chick for the dubious honour of posing as the last ever cover girl in Ralph’s final issue.

Werbeloff’s resurrection for this week’s Ralph, ahem, spread raises a couple of questions. For one, what, was Nikki Webster not available or something? And also, what happened to all of the Chk-Chk-Boom girl’s grand plans for media domination? As the awesomely named ITM forum thread Chk Chk – BOOBS points out, there was a storm of talk following the shooting incident indicating that Werbeloff would go into acting, not to mention a proposed singing career which we still shudder to think about.

As such, the whole thing just seems pretty desperate, which shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering this is Ralph’s swan song publication. Maybe this’ll be a case of mercifully killing two bronzer-overloaded birds with the one stone.

And no, the irony that now scores of the “fat wogs” and “skinny wogs” that Werbeloff ranted about in her original rise-to-fame and who still read Ralph will now be rubbing one out to her dolled up visage is not lost on us either.
