As part of its Impossible Music Festival, triple j asked its listeners to vote for the best live acts they’ve ever seen. The results of the poll have now been announced, with the expected mix of sure-things, wildcards and eyebrow-raisers.
It should come as no great surprise that laser-loving trio Muse romped into the top spot ahead of their blockbusting stadium tour this December, but it appears the warm glow from Daft Punk’s 2007 visit hasn’t faded either. Our favourite robots are the highest-ranking ‘dance’ act at #3, closely followed by local workhorses Art Vs. Science. ITMers are sure to agree with the inclusion of The Prodigy’s blistering live show, but we wager your Top 20s wouldn’t look quite like this…
1. Muse
2. Rage Against The Machine
3. Daft Punk
4. Bloc Party
5. Art Vs. Science
6. The Cat Empire
7. Vampire Weekend
8. Hilltop Hoods
9. The Presets
10. Yeah Yeah Yeahs
11. Foo Fighters
12. John Butler Trio
13. The Flaming Lips
14. Pearl Jam
15. The Prodigy
16. Florence + the Machine
17. Phoenix
18. Grinspoon
19. Tool
20. Radiohead
