As a definitive mark on the local dance industry calendar, Central Battle DJ Competition was an annual call for every bedroom DJ to jostle for the title of Central Battle alongside a host of amazing prizes. Since the closure of Central Station Records two years ago, Central Battle’s presence has been sorely missed. The strength that Central Battle bought to Brisbane’s dance scene certainly served to unite emerging artists with the professional dance heavyweights.

Central Battle has been responsible for launching the careers of many of the State’s luminary artists including Tim Plunkett, Jeremy Iliev and of course Central Battle’s poster child, Australia’s #1 ITM50 DJ for two consecutive years and 2010’s IDMA breakthrough artist, DJ tyDi.

With the exciting news that former Brisbane Central Station Record owner and local DJ legend Murray Brown is bringing Central Battle back, promoters and venues are surging to contribute their support towards the event, spurred on by the enormous reputation that precedes this iconic DJ Competition.

With most details being kept under wraps, Murray has released the information that it will all start up some time in August. Keep tuned to inthemix for all details!
