Dubstep’s golden boy, Rusko, has been making headlines on inthemix recently, firstly for the release of his latest LP, O.M.G.!, last month, and also for his schizophrenic production gigs, which have seen the UK producer craft beats for M.I.A.’s new album (this week’s feature album on ITM) as well as for Britney Spears, believe it or not. And now he’s back again and causing more trouble, revealing exclusively to inthemix that he’s got the Australian summer in his sights.

Speaking with ITM super intern jagodahorowitz last week, Rusko went into detail about his latest star-turn as a hired gun for Ms. Spears before dropping some juicy hints about his plans for a summer tour.

“Just after the new year in January or February is the plan, which is the best time I hear,” Rusko said excitedly. “It’s been a long time [in between visits]. I get so much mail from people who love the record over there and it’s been too long. I’ll be over there soon. Don’t worry.”

With the rise of dubstep increasingly infiltrating Australia’s summer festivals, a visit from Rusko was always a given but this just makes it kinda official. Any bets where we’ll see him over summer? Days Like This? Field Day? Let us know, ITM crystal ball…
