For months now we’ve been quietly excited the return of Australia’s indie-synth golden boys Cut Copy. Amid some hints about their 2011-set third album and the bumper news that Cut Copy were on this year’s Parklife lineup festival that excitement has only increased. Now at last we’ve got the first tangible piece of Cut Copy’s comeback, in the form of a newly released tune, Where I’m Going.

Premiered this morning, Where I’m Going finds the Melbourne trio in a particularly bouncy mood, busting out the guitars, handclaps and woo-ooo’s, all mixed together with some layered production and skewed electronics. Classic Cut Copy, we say!

“There is a lot more emphasis put on experimentation in the process of creating something for Cut Copy these days,” the band’s Tim Hooey told the dudes over at Spank Records. “Whether it’s with different gear or song structures and I think the records are sounding all the better after opening up to that way of working.”

What’s even better about all this is that in preparation for the group’s Parklife dates you can grab the tune for free over at the Cut Copy website. Not too shabby!

Check out Cut Copy’s schedule on the Parklife tour dates below and for an extra freebie, head over here to grab the first cut from Voltage, released on Cutters Records just recently.
