Amid a week of big tour announcements – check Richard Durand, Klaxons, Stereosonic and the forthcoming Armin Only announcement – it’s also been a bumper week for hip-hop fans. Already we’ve heard the word that none other than Ice Cube would be travelling down our way to play at the Fat As Butter festival in Newcastle and now we’ve got more good news! Kool Keith will be here in August!

Last seen out here in 2008, the man of a million monikers – okay that’s an exaggeration but still he’s known by a range of names such as Dr Octagon and Dr Dooom – Keith will touch down in Australia next month for a multi-date tour bringing his outrageous sex jams to most capital cities, including a date at Melbourne’s Espy with De La Soul deck-hand DJ Maseo.
