It’s been a super-sized couple of weeks for Tiesto fans on inthemix, with news rolling out earlier in the month that the almighty Dutch DJ would be coming back to Australia as the headliner of this year’s Stereosonic festival. That news was bolstered yesterday as inthemix unveiled the 2010 lineup for Stereosonic, showing Tiesto would be in fine company alongside other massive names like Major Lazer, Carl Cox and Sebastian Ingrosso.

When inthemix tracked down the headlining star last night for an interview about his Stereosonic return, Tiesto was gushing about the festival, seemingly matching the excitement and positive vibes felt by the ITM massive at yesterday’s announcement.

“I’m really excited to come back and play Stereosonic,” Tiesto told inthemix. “The great thing about coming back for Stereosonic is that this time it’s going to be a totally different thing to my ‘Kaleidoscope’ tour,” Tiesto explained. “They were Tiesto shows, but this will be a whole new experience. I’m really excited about doing the festival and being a part of that amazing lineup, there’s so many cool DJs there.”

Indeed, the enormous lineup of big name artists seems to have the mighty Tiesto positively buzzing ahead of Stereosonic’s Novemeber arrival, with the Dutchman hyping up the festival feel that he’s anticipating.

“If you look at the lineup, it’s funny, because I play tracks from all those guys. People might know me from the trance scene but now, in 2010, my sets are much more eclectic and I can pound out the stuff I’m into if that is a Afrojack track or a Sebastian Ingrosso track,” Tiesto said. “I think Stereosonic will be a great place for me to try some new things and take some inspiration from all the great DJs that I’m playing with and the way the people get into that. I’ll be playing completely different sets at the festival because there’s another side of myself that I want to show to that festival crowd.”
