According to the tour calendar on kompakt.fm, German impresario Superpitcher is set to return to these parts in October. The man was last here in 2008 alongside Kompakt labelmate Michael Mayer for some masterful sets as Supermayer, requesting eight-plus-hour sets to really stretch out.

Ahead of Mayer’s solo return in summer, Superpitcher is forging down under to spread the word on his own artist album Kilimanjaro. The record was a work in progress for four years, and it deviates from its predecessor Here Comes Love by incorporating more live instrumentation and vocals. His DJ sets are always theatrical affairs, replete with stripped-back house and techno and cut through by pop flourishes. We can only imagine he’ll have extended sets to work with as well.
