Dance music juggernaut Ministry Of Sound likes to try its hand at all angles, often to the chagrin of genre purists. Feelings will once again be divided at the announcement of Ministry Of Sound The Underground 2010: Techno, the next double-disc edition in the UK’s Underground series.
Attempting to “bring together the producers and labels the scene has given birth to over the last 20 years”, the tracklisting is certainly a mixed bag. Detroit leaders like Carl Craig and Kenny Larkin rub shoulders with Spencer Parker and Seth Troxler, while several of the must-have ‘anthems’ – Can You Relate, Spastik, Mouth To Mouth – are dutifully ticked off.
