We were excited to hear Timo Maas would be paying us a visit in October, and even more-so when it was revealed he’d be showing off his entry in the acclaimed Balance series.

Following Agoria’s heady and consuming two-parter, Maas was tasked with mixing Balance 017, and the tracklist suggests we’re in for something special. Disc one looks to be the slow-burner with tracks from Nicolas Jaar, Henrik Schwarz, Mathias Schaffhauser and Carl Craig, while its follow-on seems set to peaktime, with Maas and his studio partner Santos contributing quite a few techy bombs.

While his productions tend to take centre stage, the man is also an accomplished DJ, particularly on a club sound-system. These October dates should set the perfect scene for him to stretch out and do his thing.

Balance 017 will be released 8 October through Balance Music/EMI. Timo Maas tour dates:
