Having got into practice over the Northern summer, Holy Ghost! is bringing its four-piece live show to Parklife this September/October. The guys will be showing off songs from their forthcoming album on hipster hub DFA, alongside the smooth disco-pop we heard on the Static on the Wire EP from earlier this year.
Luckily for us, Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser are also packing their records for the trip. The duo cancelled its last Australian tour here following the death of “dear friend and musical partner” Jerry Fuchs, so they’ll be making up for lost time with four DJ dates.
Here’s what inthemix’s house/disco/techno authority tadtietze had to say of the duo’s Sydney session in early 2009: “It’s a distinctive style they have, staying locked in a 120-BPM groove while churning through big hits. Their selections ranged from re-edits and ‘80s classics to house remixes of oldies like Prince’s Controversy and Talking Heads’ I Zimbra.”
Holy Ghost! will DJ at these club shows – stay tuned for venue details:
Friday 24 September – Lick It & Happy-Endings, Brisbane
Sunday 26 September – Bohemia, Perth
Friday 1 October – WAX, Melbourne
Sunday 3 October – Adult Disco @ Civic Underground, Sydney
