With a legacy that stretches from Detroit to Berlin, Daniel Bell is bringing his time-honoured box of records to Australia in October. The man first made his name in the Motor City with a stripped-back take on techno, releasing seminal work under his DBX alias. His move to the German capital came in 2000, quickly establishing himself with the still-revered mix-CD for Berlin institution Tresor, The Button Down Mind Of Daniel Bell.

Over this decade, Bell has continued to refine his sound both in the studio and on dark dancefloors. In 2008, he famously revised the DBX live show for a run of dates including Movement in Detroit, which saw old and new brought together with finesse. The man’s three Australian shows – including the 12th birthday of Mad Racket in Sydney – should be something special.
