Armin Van Buuren’s long-reigning A State Of Trance radio show is rocketing towards its 500th episode, with the promise that it’ll “definitely top ASOT 450”. Murmurs of an epic tour to mark the occasion have been brewing for a while, and last night on ASOT 476, Armin dropped the bombshell. The A State Of Trance 500 celebrations will visit five cities on five continents in 2011, with Sydney as the final stop.

Fans are being asked to vote on the A State Of Trance website for which DJs they’d like to see leading the ASOT 500 tour. No doubt there’ll be plenty of calls for the ASOT leader himself, but also some of the radio show’s regular stars like Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, BT and Giuseppe Ottaviani. There’s certainly an illustrious pool to draw from.

According to last night’s episode, the celebrations will start in Johannesburg, progressing to the Ultra Music Festival in Miami later in the month. As for the Sydney show details, we’ll just have to sit tight!
