To show our gratitude to the tireless efforts of inthemix’s contributor team, we’ve been on the search for one lucky ITM contributor to embark on an illustrious assignment this summer. The chosen candidate will be sent along the east coast as the official inthemix reporter for the mighty Stereosonic festival, reporting on all the action from on-stage and behind the scenes.

Flights, hotel accommodation and AAA festival passes are all part of the package, and we’ll also kit the reporter out with the extras needed to do a stellar job, including a HD Flip video camera and $500 spending money.

With that kind of haul on offer, it’s little surprise that the applications came thick and fast. In order to be in contention, all you had to do is submit your favourite review, photo gallery or interview contributed to inthemix throughout 2010. From fresh faces to some of our longest-standing writers and photographers, the entries reminded us once again how lucky we are to have such a passionate team representing inthemix.

Honing the list down to a top 15 was no easy task, with a high standard right across the board. In the end, these finalists were chosen not only on the quality of their work but also their professionalism and enthusiasm. A big thanks to everyone who put their work in the ring; we salute you.

The overall winner in the Stereosonic festival reporter competition will be announced this Friday 22 October. The verdict will be decided by inthemix HQ and Stereosonic, rather than by public vote – just be happy you don’t have to make the tortuous final call!
