While it’s a far way off from fully transforming into an indie-gone-dance event, the beloved Golden Plains festival is back again for 2011, bringing with it a tasty little lineup of dance-friendly acts to get your groove on at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre next year.

As well as playing to tradition with a host of current and classic alt acts including Wavves, Best Coast, Joanna Newsom and Os Mutantes, Golden Plains’ 2011 lineup – neatly titled Golden Plains the Fifth in honour of its five year anniversary – is bringing some dancey joy for punters including live electronic favourite Jamie Lidell and Scuba’s latest dub prodigies Mount Kimbie.

Add to that a nice mix of local favourites such as Architecture In Helsinki and World’s End Press and baby, you’ve got yourself a festival.
