In 1991, De La Soul followed up its breakout debut album with the mercurial De La Soul Is Dead. Loaded with instant classics, the LP heralded the trio as trailblazers for conscious hip hop. In 2011, Posdnuos, Dave and Maseo will honour the 20th anniversary of their watershed moment with a very special Australian tour.
At three dates around the country, De La Soul is set to perform De La Soul Is Dead in its entirety. That means hearing A Rollerskatin Jam Called) Saturdays, Ring Ring, Keepin The Faith and others you’d rarely hear live over one warm and fuzzy performance. The trio is bringing some friends along to help them celebrate, including the album’s co-producer Prince Paul. A one-off event like this is sure to sell swiftly, so don’t dawdle!
