Mos Def’s first ever headline tour of Australia continues to be hampered by a series unfortunate events; including the Queensland floods and family illness, which has delayed the rapper’s departure from the USA.
All the tour dates have been altered since the tour was first announced – the lastest change being the cancellation of the first Melbourne date of the tour – on Sunday 16th of January.
The scheduling clashes also mean that the previously announced support slots by Pharoahe Monch and Talib Kweli will no longer be going ahead.
The tour promoters, Peace Music, have issued a statement noting that they “sincerely regret the delay in delivering Mos Def’s 2011 tour, the circumstances that the have impacted the tour remain beyond our control”.
Mos Def headline shows – updated dates:
Tuesday 18th January – HQ, Adelaide
Saturday 22nd January – Hot BBQ, Point Nepean
Sunday 23rd January – The Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday 26th January – Hi Fi, Brisbane
Thursday 27th January – Metro City, Perth
Friday 28th January – The Espy, Melbourne
