As a way of thanking the many who make the long trek across the border to Wisemans’s Ferry from Melbourne each year, organisers of the Playground Weekender festival are throwing a big party featuring none other than the master of funk himself, Norman Jay MBE.

Bringing his Good Times party all the way from the UK where it has enjoyed thirty years of groovin’ at The Notting Hill Carnival, it will be the first time it hits Australia, with Norman playing as much funk, soul and groove you can handle in a whopping four-hour set.

As the first DJ to receive an MBE for his ‘deejaying and services to music’ in the UK, Norman is an icon in his own right, with Billboard hosting what looks to be one night of mighty deep house, soul and whatever else suits the mood.
