After bowing onto the Australian festival circuit in a very big way last year with a lineup featuring the likes of Green Velvet, Ferry Corsten and of course headliners The Bloody Beetroots, the globally adored Creamfields festival will return to Australia this April for a run of smashing dates around the country.

But you already knew that, right? So let’s move right along to the first lineup announcement for Creamfields 2011 which has been brilliantly teased out into soaring levels of anticipation. At the top of the bill is of course Canada’s #1 troublemaker Deadmau5! As inthemix exclusively revealed on New Year’s Eve 2010, the ‘mau5-headed one will be bringing his explosive LED/Rubix Cube live show to Australia for the first time with the festival, something fans have been hoping and praying for since the producer first debuted it back at Coachella last year.

Moving along and the lineup comes stuffed with something for all. For house lovers there’s heavyweight Frenchman Martin Solveig, and Dutch house high-flyer Chuckie, while Deadmau5 protégée Skrillex brings his bombastic beats to the party along with electro acts like Surkin and Dada Life.

Trance fans are in good stead as well with Simon Patterson returning for more laser-fuelled fun and Israeli mob Skazi turn up to the delight of many chronic wishlist-ers. If that’s not enough there’s also an injection of techno led by Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May playing as their collaborative group Hi Tek Soul under the 25 Years of Detroit banner. Speaking of dance legends and the festival also sees the return of a reunited Gabriel & Dresden, playing some of their first shows since their NYE comeback.
