The inimitable Danny Howells returns to these parts in April, and he’s got something extra special planned. Fans in Melbourne and Canberra will be treated to one of the DJ’s iconic Dig Deeper sets, which sees him going, well, deeper than the usual two-hour sets allow. In Sydney he’s stretching out across an afternoon at another Chinese Laundry Garden Party, before jetting to Brisbane for an intimate club show.
In April, Danny Howells will release Phase One, the first entry in a compilation series for his Dig Deeper label. The double-disc set showcases 43 tracks, including a swag of remixes and productions from Howells himself. He’s also recruited Nick Warren, Vadim Yershov, Benny Rodrigues and more proven producers to the label.
As we know from past visits, Howells is a consummate DJ, willing to take risks and gradually reel the dancefloor in. His Dig Deeper nights at The End in London were the stuff of legend, cementing his reputation as a true journeyman. Very soon it’ll be our turn!
Friday 8 April – Melbourne, Brown Alley (Dig Deeper set)
Saturday 9 April – Sydney, Chinese Laundry (Afternoon Garden Set)
Saturday 9 April – Brisbane, Bar Soma
