No stranger to these parts, tech-funk ambassador Meat Katie returns for club shows in April. This time round, the Londoner is spreading the word on the Seven Year Itch compilation, marking seven years of his heavyweight Lot49 stable. He’s also got a new album on its way to pick up where the speaker-busting Vibrator left off.
On the evidence of Meat Katie’s latest release Bizarre Is Beautiful, it seems the man is back in love with breakbeats. With a heads-down vibe reminiscent of some of his earlier productions, it should sit comfortably in a set celebrating Lot49’s blistering catalogue. Check out his remix of one of the label’s biggest weapons The World Can’t Do You No Harm below.
So far only the Sydney and Perth dates have been officially confirmed by promoters, but Meat Katie’s MySpace also lists stops in Brisbane and Melbourne. Stay tuned for an update.
Friday 8 April – Chinese Laundry, Sydney
Friday 15 April – Ambar, Perth
