As the set times for the 2011 Future Music Festival arrived on inthemix just yesterday a few eagle-eyed festival fans would’ve noticed the curious absence of one of the tour’s international artists, Professor Green.

Continuing the trend of rappers having problematic Australian tours, Professor Green has bowed out of the FMF tour at the last minute, with the UK MC citing scheduling conflicts with his label for his late withdrawal.

“It’s with great regret that Professor Green has to cancel his trip to Australia,” a press release relayed by event promoters Future Entertainment read. “We would like to apologise for the late notice but it’s become very clear that with our delivery commitment and schedule for our second album that travelling to Australia would have an adverse impact on our ability to meet our delivery dates. We met with the label on Friday and it was during this meeting that we came to this decision.”

Professor Green’s exit follows that of Etienne de Crecy who quietly slipped off the face of the Future Music Festival lineup last year. Green will be replaced by Hook N Sling in Brisbane and Grant Smillie at all other dates.
