Sydney party purveyors HaHa are celebrating six years of fine work in 2011, and there’s a fitting blowout planned for the birthday. On Saturday 2 April, HaHa returns to Marrickville Bowling Club with none other than techno shapeshifter Kenny Larkin.

A key player in the second wave of Detroit techno, Larkin’s focus turned to stand-up comedy in the 2000s. He continues to work the circuit in his adopted home of California and beyond, while still making time to indulge his other love.

The funny-man showed his production clout is undiminished with the release his 2008 album Keys, Strings, Tambourines on Planet E Records. As well as keeping tight with Carl Craig’s stable (look out for Larkin on the upcoming 20 Years Of Planet E compilation), his 12-inches have also been released by the likes of R&S Records and Plus 8 in the ‘90s and Peacefrog Records and Rush Hour in the 2000s.

HaHa threw some standout parties at the Marrickville Bowling Club last year, with guests like Vince Watson, Deetron, Juan Atkins and Optimo going long under the copper ceiling. At the sixth birthday, Larkin will be joined by veteran Sydney live act Bleepin J Sqwakins and DJs Simon Caldwell, D&D and Jack Obsolete.
