Back in January, inthemix put a call out for budding producers to have a crack at remixing We Run The Night, the comeback single from electro-house team Tonite Only. After working their way through all the entries, the duo’s label Downright has picked a winner. Step up Melbourne production unit Polyfonik, who turned in the remix you can hear below.

“The Polyfonik entry was successful in delivering something unique to the original,” explains Aden, head of A&R for Downright. “The best way to do this is by finding two or three parts you’d really like to use, then write something new around them that showcase your sound design and individual perspective as a songwriter. A number of entries chose to use all the original parts and essentially delivered a new mixdown of the original.”

Polyfonik have won over $2K in production gear courtesy of DJ Warehouse to help them keep turning out the floor-fillers. “Big thanks to inthemix, Tonite Only and MOS for this; it’s really humbling,” Polyfonik said in reaction to the news. “Tonite Only were, and now once again are a big influence in shaping our sound so we are naturally so happy to be on this release along with so many other great artists.

“It’s so great to be acknowledged for our work after a few long years slugging away, trying to shape our style and sound. We look forward to working with all parties involved in the future!”
