Free on the afternoon of Saturday 2 April? A few of Sydney’s well-practised party people have you covered. The combined powers of the Bump DJs and Steamworks are throwing a ‘daytime rooftop rave’ at Hotel Sweeney’s with distinguished Berliner Daniel Steinberg as the star attraction.
Earlier this year, Steinberg released his debut album Shut Up, boasting eight tracks of good-humoured, dancefloor-burning tech-house. He’s a regular fixture at the clubs around his hometown, so expect his bag to be full of gems.
The party is as much about the locals as the out-of-towner, though. The rooftop will also buzz with two-hour sets from Mad Racketeers Ken Cloud & Simon Caldwell, The Bump DJs and Hermans & Jones.
Downstairs in the ‘Rave Cave’ you can pretend it’s three am with Sydney all-stars like Claire Morgan, Dave Slade, Le Brond, Diatribe, Disconnected DJs and Pocket. The good times start at 3pm and go until 10pm, at which point you can hope on a train to Marrickville to catch Detroit legend Kenny Larkin at HaHa.
