With a distinguished catalogue of releases on Warp Records, Clark is a true original. The production guru released his first album Clarence Park through the seminal label in 2001, following it with four more over the last decade. The most recent was 2009’s Totems Flare, a giddy ride through glitchy techno, off-kilter rhythms and dark, distorted soundscapes.
Clark’s last long haul to these parts was in 2009, and his return sees the man jetting from Perth to Sydney to Melbourne over the Easter long weekend. According to the tour press release, he’s set to perform his ‘all-new club show’, and the line-ups in each city complement him perfectly.
The Melbourne date brings together forward-thinking crews Signal, Espionage and Racket for ‘a full multimedia event featuring a venue installation and unique sonic exploration space’, with a local contingent led by Harmonic 313, Robin Fox, Cloud Speaker, Mike Hunt and Dave Pham.
In Sydney, it’s an Index production, also with Harmonic 313, plus Hyperdub’s leading lady Ikonika and local support. In Perth, the special guests include Zeke, Viv G, Declan and Underground Sound Solution System.
