Hard-touring whiz James Zabiela always makes time for Australia, and true to form he’s back here in May. It’ll be almost exactly a year between visits for the DJ, producer and technical maven, whose 2010 club tour saw him launching his Renaissance Master Series compilation.

Zabiela’s dexterous skills in the booth ensure he’s always on the move, with a mounting list of Northern summer dates on the horizon. He’ll tick off EXIT Festival (where he played up a storm alongside Nic Fanciulli in 2009), Tomorrowland, Global Gathering and Creamfields in the months ahead – an epic run even by his standards. If you don’t catch him in May, you might be waiting another year.

Zabiela is set to play Brown Alley in Melbourne on Friday 20 May (more tour dates coming any minute), alongside none other than Detroit original Robert Hood. Hood was also here last May to flaunt his authority on all things minimal techno, and his sets around the country were worth the wait.
