With all the international talent stepping into the ring for Magic City, it’s easy to overlook the home team. Representing Australia on Saturday 21 May will be the leading lady of the local hard dance scene on the NSW Central Coast, Dexi, going back-to-back with Sydney’s VLN. She’s also set to be joined live by the Newcastle Rockers, who you can check out in action in the video below.

So, how does Dexi rate the Newcastle hard dance scene? “After all my travels Newcastle has the healthiest and most supportive hard dance scene anywhere in Australia; I will challenge anybody to debate that,” she says. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The clubs are packed all the time! I never play to an empty club and I love that.”

She also had a few words for inthemix about leading the Newcastle Rockers. “They have proven the best shufflers in Australia. We do it Newcastle style. There’s a fair bit of work that goes into our performances and we are taking shuffling to a new level. They selected me as their DJ and together we have created something wicked!”
