Back in March, inthemix put a call out for budding production gurus to put their spin on the Stanton Warriors single Get Up. Taken from the duo’s artist album The Warriors, it’s a party-ready track that’s ripe for remixing. As expected, the entries came thick and fast, and now the Stantons have found a winner.
The chosen remix came from 21-year-old Aaron Lee, aka Northie. Hailing from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Northie’s a keen producer and remixer.
“It’s encouraging seeing my work as a producer pay off,” he told inthemix. “I’ve been a finalist in a bunch of DJ comps before I was 18 but have never come first in anything! I’ve always been a fan of the Stanton Warriors since I was a breaks fanatic in my early teens, so it was also a very cool opportunity.”
The winning mix will be released in Australia through Central Station Records as part of the Get Up remix package, with Northie also taking home $500 cash and a bevy of production gear from DJ Warehouse and Central Station Records.
