Holding firm his position as one of the most iconic forces in dance music over the last decade and a bit, US turntable innovator DJ Shadow is due to hit this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival as one of the big electronic draws.

Naturally, Shadow’s not leaving non-festival goers hanging, today confirming the dates of his Australian sideshows duties which will see him take in three dates while in the country this July/August.

While we previously brought you the leaked dates for these shows the confirmation also comes with some tantalising details about the setup that Shadow will be employing on this trip to Australia. For the first time in the country, DJ Shadow will be showing off his newly created Shadowsphere setup, which features the man himself onstage and cocooned in an orb of sorts which flips, rotates and twists at the push of a button. The show’s also said to feature some sensory expanding visual trickery, with mounted screens projecting an array of images to go along with the Shadowsphere’s warping system.

Another bite of good news is that both Ghoul and Midnight Juggernauts in DJ mode will be serving as support on the Shadowsphere tour.
