Last month inthemix published the news that stalwart of the Canberra dance scene Escha – known to his family as Alex Beddows – had been reported missing while on holidays in New Orleans with his father. Though friends and the Beddows family maintained hope to find the missing DJ in the US it has now been confirmed that Beddows’ body has been discovered nearly a month on from his disappearance.

As reported by ABC News, Beddows’ body was found in the Mississippi river where it is suspected he had drowned after falling into the flooded water base.

According to the news item a memorial service for Beddows is currently planned for a later date. The DJ’s death will undoubtedly be felt deeply throughout the local dance community which he was so involved in.

Alex Beddows was aged 32.
