You can scratch pretty much the entirety of this story! We’ve just received word from Wu-Tang Clan’s Australian tour promoters that Raekwon is indeed coming to Australia for the whole tour and his tweet below is referring only to the group’s European commitments.

Last week inthemix got hip hop heads buzzing with the news that iconic American rap collective Wu-Tang Clan would be back in the country later this year for a typically hyped Australian tour. As is the case with any hip hop tour, fans were wary of pesky scheduling and personnel worries that might emerge before the ‘Clan land in Australia, and rightly so as it looks like group mainstay and star chef Raekwon will be sitting this tour out.

Despite word from Ghostface Killah himself that Australia would get a near full strength Wu-Tang roster including Raekwon for the August visit, Raekwon has taken to Twitter to douse any flames of excitement about his appearance, nixing the possibility of any overseas tours for him this winter (his summer).

“I will not be on the upcoming wu tang tour this summer overseas,” Raekwon wrote in between blasts pimping his new website on the micro-blogging site, going on to explain that his withdrawal was “due to obligations im commited to already, but still will be a great Tour! [sic]”

While that forecast does indeed sound pretty grim we’ll keep our fingers and toes crossed tight that he just means all other overseas Wu-Tang tours besides the Australian one. That’s realistic, isn’t it?
