With most parts of the country scabbing an extra day off today thanks to the Queen’s birthday public holiday, the dweebs here at ITM HQ are also taking it easy after big weekend out and about. But we’re not about to leave you high and dry, of course not, so we thought we’d start the wrap up of events from this weekend before our time off was up because we know that after three nights out today’s public holiday might be best put to use indoors and trawling the internets.
While previous years have seen the June long weekend overrun by the big winter festivals touring the country, this year they disappeared and it was all about the clubs, baby.
Leading the assault on our clubs was mysterious French electro maestro Danger, bringing his evolved show to the glitch loving masses in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. And if you want to relive the night in an aural way check out Danger’s exclusive mix for ITM-FM.
Elsewhere there were other big gigs with international visitors including Bedrock superstar Guy J showing off cuts from his 1000 Words LP, Classixx, electro lads LAZRtag making a mess, Biz Markie spitting out goofy rhymes and Detroit mainstay Marcellus Pittman wowing clubbers with his record collection.
There was also plenty of action firing at local club events around the country and you can scope those galleries out below.
We’ll keep updating this story as new galleries land on inthemix so check back for the best of the weekend. And if you’re still struggling to find something to do on ITM after flipping through all those photos we’ve got a few ideas…
